Strawberry Tree --Arbutus Unedo

I needed a jump-start to get me back into drawing. I found a wonderful venue: botanical illustration. I took a class with Linda Vorobik, PhD at Filoli, a wonderful garden-lovers paradise in Woodside, Calif0rnia. The exactitude and attention were exactly what "big brush stroke" non-detail oriented me needed as a counter-balance. I am going to do more of this! This drawing was pen and ink, scanned and reproduced on watercolor paper, then painted with a light wash. I enhanced the colors in PhotoShop. I might have gone too far. Anyway, here's the color version. I'll upload the black and white version soon.
